Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you for your interest in the art of Ingo Hermes and welcome to the store! We’ve designed this store to make purchasing an original artwork by Ingo Hermes as simple as possible.
Our main concerns are the privacy and security of any transaction and the safe transfer of the artwork from the studio to you. Below you’ll find some questions and answers.

  • Who’s behind the store?

Ingo Hermes is the owner of this store and you’ll get the artwork directly from him.

  • What can I buy in this store?

Artprints.

Every item in this store is an original artwork by Ingo Hermes.
All artworks available here in the store are hand printed by Hermes in small editions.
Hermes cuts the motif he has created into a wooden plate, carefully selects high-quality colours and papers and prints each piece by hand. Thereby slight differences are created which make each print a unique and original artwork.

  • What is an edition?

A print edition is a series of prints produced in the same way at the same time. Many contemporary artists produce editions (prints) or multiples (objects) in variable editions.
Editions are signed, dated, and numbered. The numbering follows established rules: The number 2/7 for example shows that the print is the second print of an edition of seven. It can happen that test prints exist for the original edition, which are then also marked.

  • How do I recognize an original art print by Ingo Hermes?

Each print is signed and comes with a signed invoice that proves the originality.

  • Color accuracy of images show in the online gallery

The images you see in the shop represent the original as closely as possible. Since natural pigments and paper can’t be accurately reproduced digitally, the original artwork may look slightly different from the digital preview. In most cases the original art feels richer and more nuanced that the digital preview suggests.

  • Copyright

With the purchase of an artwork you become the owner of the physical artwork. The copyright remains with Ingo Hermes. You may not reproduce the image without written permission from Ingo Hermes.
  • Payment

The payment system is handled by PayPal. There you can pay with any common payment method: bank transfer, credit card and of course PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account.

  • Shipping

As this is small shop we hope you will understand that it may take a few days before the artwork is shipped. Normally we manage this in 3 working days. The delivery time depends on your location.

  • Shipping costs

All artworks are shipped directly from the studio in Cologne, Germany. Shipping costs are included. Some countries charge an import V.A.T. or sales tax. The buyer is responsible for any incurring customs fees, VAT or sales taxes.

  • Returns

We want you to be 100% happy and excited about your artwork. Should you not be fully satisfied with your purchase, you can return the artwork within 2 weeks after you received the shipment. We will issue a full refund once the artwork is back in the studio undamaged. We will deduct the shipping cost from the refund.

  • How is my artwork packed?

Each artwork is securely packed with several protective layers and shipped flat, protected by cardboard covers.

  • Frames

Since safe shipping of glass frames is prohibitively expensive, we only offer unframed work.
